I’ll be starting my first year at University College Maastricht in September, and I’m looking for a place to live for at least a full academic year. I’m friendly, respectful, open-minded, and clean. I enjoy reading, baking, traveling and socializing and would love to live in a place where people do things together sometimes - like dinners, movie nights, or going out - but I also really value and respect people’s personal space and downtime. I’m ideally looking to move in sometime between July and mid August, but I’m flexible and could move in earlier if needed. Als niet-roker en geheelonthouder streef ik naar een schone, rustige en harmonieuze woonomgeving. Mijn levensstijl is ordelijk en onderhoudsbewust, met respect voor de woning en eventuele medebewoners. I enjoy having my own space but I also appreciate a bit of shared time now and then, like cooking a meal or chatting over coffee. I don’t smoke and I’m responsible with bills and chores. Outside of university, I’m into reading, cooking, and sports (especially F1!). I enjoy walking around without a particular destination, playing video games, and watching films and TV series (always up for a new binge!). I am living alone, my two children are living on their own and I would like now to have some company. I am retired, was working my whole life at the university as professor (computing science and cognitive psychology). I have a nice garden, working in it is my new hobby; I like to cook but also I like to learn new dishes! So we have to see what we can do together. My hobbies are reading, especially about history, e.g. history of Amsterdam, and following politics in USA and the Netherlands. Further, I like to watch soccer, Ajax is (still) my favorite team, and like to follow professional bicycling. So in general I am a quiet person, and I hope the student will also be quiet. I would like to see an independent tenant but at the same time I am happy to provide assistance when needed and to tell you things about Amsterdam and the Netherlands. I am curious to the life where you come from, and I hope that the same applies to you. Preferably you are studying at one of the universities in Amsterdam. It is important for me that the student is here in Amsterdam for studying and not for holidays, so putting the study on the first place. So I prefer a student who is doing a Master or involved with a PhD project
